Cinnamon

Cinnamon is an Enterprise Content Management System (ECMS) for version-safe authoring, review, translation and publishing of Technical Documentation and electronic business assets or other data of arbitrary format.

Cinnamon has proven to be a valuable tool for the creation and management of complex and modular multilingual Technical Documentation. Cinnamon is in productive use in the automotive and aerospace industries, but is suitable for use in all fields.

Cinnamon consists of several client and server components. The essential components are production ready and are currently in production use by major companies for mission-critical tasks in the Technical Documentation field. The source code for both client and server is generally available under an open source license (LGPL). The Cinnamon server contains and uses Lucene as index engine for search purposes. Lucene is available under the Apache Software License. Both LGPL and Apache Software License enable use of the product in Open Source and commercial applications. Cinnamon server can run on Windows or Linux operating systems. The server requires an RDBMS. Several RDBMS are supported, among these are PostgreSQL, MySQL and MS-SQL 2000/2005/2008. Cinnamon client is based on Microsoft .net 3.5, and therefore only runs on Windows operating systems. Mono is currently not supported.
