Login and client GUI

When you start Cinnamon Desktop Client (CDCplus), the first you see is the following window:

Cinnamon login

This screenshot shows the startup window with a server, a user session and one window open.

The box labelled texolution represents the Cinnamon server the client connects with. Multiple servers can be accessed from the same client, but in most set-ups, there is one server. The server box shows the version and build numbers of the server.

Inside the white box, next to the person icon, there is the name of the user logged in. Again, you can create multiple sessions with different user accounts simultaneously (for example, if you are a sysadmin and want to change configuration with an admin account and then test with a regular user account without logging off and on).

Under the session, you see the list of open windows. In the case shown in the screenshot, there is:

  • One server, named texolution
  • One session of the user named Boris Horner
  • One open window showing the user's Home folder
